At the AGM, members heard reports on the group’s performance and finances for 2025/6, before electing new members to the 3 key committee positions. We also took the opportunity to say a big thank you to the committee members who were stepping down, all of whom have gone above and beyond, serving in their roles for many years.
Once the formal business was concluded, we were pleased to welcome Ali Ball, who gave us a fascinating talk on Egyptology. She shared some wonderful anecdotes about times she’s rubbed shoulders with some of the world’s leading Egyptologists and brought along a selection of amazing artefacts for us to examine and handle – with extreme care, of course! Ali’s knowledge and passion for the subject shone through, and it was easy to see why her workshops in primary schools are so popular.
Thank you again to everyone who brought in donations for Family Food Action – they were gratefully received.
