Here’s what we got up to in 2013.

15 January

Sticking with a travel theme again for January, expedition leader, founder of Bristol Explorers & Guiness World Record Holder, Belinda Kirk, shares her inspirational travel stories.

Last year’s explorer’s talk sparked the idea for us to take on the Three Peaks, who knows where this one will lead us!

19 February

Learn how to make gorgeous paper flowers & take home your own handmade bouquet. All materials will be supplied.

Use them as a wedding bouquet, a centrepiece for a table or to give to relatives in hospital. They look great, they don’t wilt, they’re low maintenance and they last for ever.

19 March

Fahrenheit Dance Studios are coming in to teach us their street dancing moves! Wear something comfortable, sensible shoes/trainers and a positive mental attitude!

16 April

Emily from Bristol Bites leads the Tasty Food Quiz (with some tasty samples).

Plus the first Gloucester Rd WI Bake Off.

21 May

Make a hair fascinator or brooch with theatrical miliner, Ani Townsend.

18 June

Professional wildlife photographer, James Silverthorne, shows us his portfolio and offers his top tips for taking better photos. Bring your camera along to this workshop. James will also be selling his striking prints afterwards.

16 July

Sugarcraft with CLP. Learn the techniques to beautifully decorate your own cupcakes.

20 August

Local legend, sustainability guru and writer of Booze for Free, Andy Hamilton, teaches us home brewing.

Also the annual Gloucester Rd WI Grow Up.

17 September

Local filmmaker, Jess Neill, tells us the story of her father who was the first black magician in the Inner Magic Circle.

15 October

AGM, Members market & swishing evening.

19 November

Christmas crafts. Make a festive wreath to hang at home or learn to lino print your own wrapping paper.
