We will hold our Annual General Meeting with a summary of our financial position and annual report. Then we will welcome local expert Joe McSorley for a talk on the Amazing World of Fungi. Fungi are not plants or animals but a third kingdom of living things all around us in the air we breathe and in the soil. There would be no life on earth without them. Fungi can be food, drugs, both legal and illegal, poison, folklore, beauty and death and Autumn is the best season to see their weird forms in our wild spaces.
In September, we will be joined by Dr Amber Phillips from UWE for a talk on The Mafias
Ever since The Godfather, there’s been no avoiding the Italian mafia in popular culture: mafiosi pop up everywhere from computer games to car insurance ads. And yet, many people are surprised to learn that the mafia are still active in Italy – and that there’s more than one.
This month, we will be joined by the fabulous Go-Gets, a 60s inspired dance troupe.
Established in 2017, they have grown into a sisterhood of passionate dancers and vintage enthusiasts that love to build each other up. Dancing our way around the UK alongside both national and international rock n roll and 60’s inspired garage bands, they love to bring a sense of feel good fun to make everyone smile.
This month, we will be joined by Sarah Ives of North & East Bristol Business Support who provide free business support to pre-start, start ups and existing enterprises in North and East Bristol.
The programme is providing a lifeline to businesses affected by Covid-19, as well as offering free vital business support to help entrepreneurs get their ideas off the ground, and help established businesses to grow. This includes introduction to enterprise, business growth, finance, marketing, branding, access to grants and funding and much more.
