Cakes and Savouries at Meetings

Back by popular demand, we will now have cakes and bakes for sale at our meetings BUT we need our members to bake! Please sign-up at the meetings or just bring some along!

21 June: Our 5th Birthday Party!

The party takes place at The Chimp House on Glos Rd and starts at 8pm. BBQ and bar, with entertainment and reminiscing!

Remember this is a change to the original advertised programme. We swapped June and July.

Review May: Angie Belcher

17 May: Comedy night with the fantastic Angie Belcher

Angie Belcher is a stand-up comedian, performance poet and actor. She’ll be coming along to give us her stand-up routine plus we’ll get to hear how she got into comedy.

Plus we have our usual WI business to catch up on including NFWI Resolutions, June’s DDG event, and an update on our clubs.

We will start at 8pm, but you can come along from 7.30pm to grab a drink. Please don’t come along any earlier as we are not usually ready and you may be required to help set up!

Review April Meeting: The psychology of superstition

Review March Meeting: Integrate Bristol

19 April: The psychology of superstition

We hear from Dr Stuart Wilson, Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh

Stuart Wilson is one of the few people in the world with a Ph.D in parapsychology but he gave up studying the paranormal and started researching why normal people believe weird things. In this talk he will describe research in psychology that attempts to explain how our minds can come to hold some very odd beliefs.

15 March: Integrate Bristol

This month we hear from local organisation, Integrate Bristol, a charity that works towards equality and integration, about the issues that sparked their formation and subsequent campaigning to end violence against women and girls.
