It’s time for the AGM, new committee members are sworn in and we have a review of the past year.
We also have a talk and demo from our local female butcher, Amy from Dave Giles on Gloucester Road.

A Bangra Drumming workshop this month and back at our usual venue, St Andrew’s Bowling Club on Derby Road.
Please be aware this is going to be a noisy session as we’ll be hearing a demo and having a go with the drums.
Back to crafts this month as we take on the classic 1970s trend of macramĂ©. Ali will be taking us through the steps to make a hanging indoor plant holder.Â
This month is a bit different as we go off site and take a visit to PC Motors to learn all things car maintenance.
The meeting takes place at:
PC Motors in Horfield at Unit 1a Elm Road, Horfield, Bristol, BS7 8RJ.
But we will convene beforehand nearby at the Tinto Lounge on Glos Rd from 7.15pm, then head over to PC Motors. Once we are done we’ll head back to Tinto for our WI business.
Do you know your Gouda from your Gorgonzola, your Stinking Bishop from your Yarg? It’s time to test your taste buds with our cheese tasting quiz (and quite frankly this is the meeting a lot of us cheese lovers have been waiting for!).
Please bring along any homemade chutneys too to try with the cheese.
Not all of our cheeses will be vegetarian and obviously if you have a severe dairy allergy, or are pregnant (and avoiding soft and blue cheeses) then you might want to give this one a miss.
This month we have a talk from Unseen UK, who are a charity working towards a world without slavery, through working in partnership with communities, business, governments and other organisations to help stamp out slavery for good. They also provide victims of trafficking, with the safety, hope and choice they deserve.
We are looking forward to hearing all about the work they do to eradicate slavery in UK.
Time for some craft and with former member and local jewellery designer, Jemima Lumley, who’ll be showing us how to create a beautiful embroidered appliquĂ© piece that can be framed. We’ll have all the materials you’ll need but if you can bring along a basic sewing kit (with a needle suitable for embroidery) that will be helpful.
Come along to find out how music and music therapy can support mental health and wellbeing, we’ll have a talk and an interactive session – no musical ability required!
Have an unwanted present? Been doing a bit of decluttering and now have items that no longer spark joy in your life (fans of Marie Kondo will know what we mean by that!)? Bring them along to add to February’s swishing* and re-gifting auction!
We’ll start with the re-gifting where we’ll auction off your unwanted gifts with all proceeds going to our nominated charity. Then we’ll have the swishing towards the end of the night.
*Wondering what swishing is? Bring along some clothes or accessories you no longer want and swap them for something someone else has bought along!
