We had an inspiring social themed meeting around International Women’s Day and #BreaktheBias #IWD2022.

Members discussed inspirational women, from family members to musicians and we had a talk on Ovarian Cancer.

This month, our own Dr Emily Bell gave a fascinating talk on wasps and their habits. We found out that these highly social insects live in a matriarchal society and are useful pollinators and scavengers of pests.

In January, we welcoming 2022 with an inspiring talk on stepping out of your comfort zone with Zoe Langley-Wathen of Head Right Out.

Zoe told us how she had taken up long distance walking in middle age and how pushing out of your comfort zone develops resilience and confidence.

Review December: Christmas Party

 

We met face to face for our Gloucester Rd WI Christmas party on 14 December, downstairs at St Andrew’s Bowling club.

We brought food to share, and enjoyed prosecco, skittles and a Raffle in aid of our charity, Womankind.

Bring food to share! There will be skittles, with a prize for the winner and a Raffle in aid of our charity, Womankind.

Review November: Gift Wrapping and Mince Pie Tasting

 

In November we met face to face with an option to meet via Zoom.

Then we voted on the best locally sourced Mince Pies decided by a taste test!
